Tennis instruction in the US runs from a certified teaching pro giving private lessons on a park court to full academies with fitness staff, boarding and tournament travel. Private lessons are priced per hour, semi-private and group clinics cost less per player, and most clubs run junior programs after school and adult drills in the evening. The USTA organizes the national rating (NTRP) and the adult and junior leagues most players join; the USPTA and PTR certify coaches. Summer camps take kids by the week or the day and usually include lunch and match play. Stadiums and event venues host college matches, USTA sanctioned tournaments and the occasional exhibition, with free or low-cost admission for most of them.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 9 am–5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Harrisburg is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Harrisburg follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Too expensive for what? Someone to put together a basic play schedule? Not worth it. Other free community programs done so much better!

I am very disappointed in how this organization operates for the most part. There are clear biases in decision-making, which raise serious concerns about fairness and transparency. To further illustrate this point, one of the glowing reviews here are from a board members’ siblingβ€” an individual who doesn't even live in the same state as the organization. This feels like an attempt to artificially sway public opinion of how the organization is run, rather than allowing genuine experiences to speak for themselves. I strongly encourage anyone considering involvement with this organization to look deeper and ask questions before forming an opinion based on one 5 star review. I did give this 2 stars because I do feel there are a handful of individuals who are trying to make the organization what it was intended to be, they unfortunately are continuing to be silenced by the biases and prejudices of their direct e board members.

If you’re looking to this organization for sports, then run the other way. The E-Board knows nothing about sports, but makes every decision based on whoever they favor in the sports committee at the time. They recently hired a sports coordinator, but do not value her opinion at all. They are supposed to empower woman, but I guess it just depends on who that woman is. There are changes from year to year, but they allow an uncomfortable amount of favoritism & conflicts of interest. There are some good people on the committee but also some bad apples that usually take charge. Imagine the movie β€œMean Girls” but playing out in a sports league. Do yourself a favor and look to Yellow breeches or other leagues. Unless you love incompetence, then you’ll be right at home here!

Don’t touch the intramural sports with a 10 foot pole. There are a few gems on the board but the organization as a whole is poorly run and has some pretty big conflicts of interest. On top of that it’s filled with more drama and gossip than a high school girls bathroom. They care more about profiting and carrying out personal vendettas than they do creating a fun and welcoming environment for the competitors. It doesn’t even deserve the one star I’m forced to give it. Save your time and money and look elsewhere.

Stay away from their intramural sports leagues. They charge just as much as the other leagues, but its clear that the money is just pocketed rather than used to hire qualified personal. Fields are constantly in unsafe conditions, and officiating is negligible. Any constructive feed back to the league director is met with excuses and a "poor me" mentality in attempt to absolve herself from any type of accountability. When told that players are considering not playing in future leagues due to HYP's tendency to absolve itself of any responsibility and avoid addressing safety issues, the director responds with hostility and implications that its nothing more than an empty threat. It becomes abundantly clear upon any interaction that HYP is little more than a disorganized for-profit business run by inexperienced, unprofessional resources with little to no qualifications. Save yourself the head and body ache of dealing with such an amateur organization, and join one of the many other intramural leagues in the area.
